Goals / remit of the organisation: The Medical School Hannover is one of the leading medical schools in Germany with an outstandig centre for lung transplantation.

Our department of nursing makes strong effords in providing excellent nursing services. We invest in practical nursing research and ongoing nursing education.

Our mission statement outlines this approach:

We - the nurses at the Medical School Hannover - fullfill our task, people who have been entrusted, or entrusted to us, to give appropriate and special service.

Nursing is professionally planned, implemented and verified

Nursing sees itself as an independent, health-oriented discipline.

We – Nurses support and assist with our specific knowledge of health and disease the adjustment process of the sick person and the caregiver to changing conditions.

Our actions are based on the nursing care model after Roper et al.

The nursing process is carried out according to the WHO definition.

For quality assurance assessments and evaluations of nursing, development and implementation of nursing standards, standards-based nursing plans and nursing visits.

Consultations with the aim of health promotion at the beginning, during the hospital stay and discharging are nursing components.
