FILM FRANCE - The French Film Commission Everything you need to know about shooting and posting in France
Film France is the first stop for foreign production companies and individuals preparing to film in France. A network of 41 local film commissions throughout the country offers free information on locations, crews, labour rates and facilities. Its board is made up of key film and television producers, prominent people in technical services industries and representatives of local governments. Film France provides assistance with contacting appropriate agencies regarding immigration/work permits and filming permits, as well as information regarding labour rates, studio facilities, post-production facilities and suppliers. Film France can also provide information about co-productions opportunities in France. At last, Film France is in charge of promoting the TRIP (Tax Rebate for International Production), a 20 % rebate designed for foreign films and TV dramas & series shooting in France. Our agency also gives an expertise to the CNC for every application to the TRIP made by foreign producers. Nowhere else in Europe will you find such a large diversity of locations combined with a highly skilled workforce. France is home to one of the strongest film community, proud of its free-spirit. Crews jump from short films to large scale productions and are recognized for their versatility and adaptability.
THE NETWORK OF FILM COMMISSIONS FRANCE
The local film commissions promote and facilitate shoots in their area and assist crews during all types of production (feature films, television programs, commercials and music videos). Each local film commission – also known as a film office – which is a member of the network of the National Film Commission France, provides free assistance in the following services: - information concerning locations and pre-scouting (constitution of a database, digital photographs, etc.) - search for crew, cast and extras (casting facilities are available in most film offices) - administrative procedures, assistance in obtaining filming permits - logistical and diverse information (vehicle rental, lodging, etc.) - production office facilities and documentation - relations with the press and local authorities.
