Activities
Main EU initiatives covered the year before by activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register:
|
The Brussels office continuously followed the activities of the human rights and democracy committee of the European Parliament and attended events related to democracy issues in the EP organized by the Members of European Parliament. It has had bilateral meetings with MEPs and EP staff to get a better understanding of its policies and developments and build relations. Furthermore, the Brussels office occasionally met with European Commission officials. Also, it organized the visit of two groups of young amibitious Russians to the EP and EC to learn more about the Institutions and meet with European peers on the local, national and European level. The Brussels office has worked with its headquarters on executing an EU grant awarded by the EU delegation in Washington DC and has organized the Brussels based event in cooperation with the European Parliament. Also, the Brussels office has facilitated the visit of two Cuban former political prisoners to have bilateral meetings within the Parliament and the Commission.
