De brancheorganisatie die opkomt voor de belangen van onafhankelijke bedrijven (niet direct
gebonden aan oliemaatschappijen) die actief zijn in handel, transport, opslag en verkoop van
vloeibare en gasvormige brandstoffen en smeermiddelen. NOVE is in 1907 opgericht als
branchevereniging van kolenhandelaren.
De leden van NOVE zijn actief in de landhandel (daaronder wordt verstaan de opslag,
vervoer, transport, handel en verkoop van brandstof op het land), brandstoflevering aan de
binnenvaartsector en aan de zeevaart.
Feiten
• Van de onafhankelijke handel in brandstoffen is 75% aangesloten bij NOVE
• NOVE heeft 185 leden, waarvan 145 landhandel, 30 binnenvaart en 10 zeevaart
• Van de 4.000 tankstations in Nederland zijn er 1.000 lid van NOVE
• Van 36 brandstofdepots zijn 22 depots lid van NOVE
• Van 13,8 miljard liter brandstof voor het wegverkeer wordt 40% verhandeld door
bedrijven aangesloten bij NOVE.
• Van de 1.000 tankwagens in Nederland is 80% van leden van NOVE
• Van de 16 miljoen ton verkochte stookolie in Nederland voor bunkering van
zeeschepen wordt 8 miljoen verhandeld door NOVE-leden. (Rotterdam is de derde
zeebunkering-haven van de wereld)
• Van de 105 bunkerboten (binnenvaart) zijn er 95 aangesloten bij NOVE.
(Nederland is nummer 1 in Europa op het gebied van binnenvaartbunkering)
• In 2009 717.000 ton gasolie geleverd aan binnenvaartschepen
• In 2009 ca 150.000 binnenvaartbunkeringen
• 325 fte’s direct werkzaam in de binnenvaartbunkering
NOVE is actief in overleg met Europese, landelijke en lokale overheden in onder meer de
volgende dossiers:
• Europees Parlement: zwavelarme brandstoffen binnenvaart
• Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat: veiligheid schepen, MARPOL-wetgeving
• Ministerie van VROM: biobrandstoffen, voorkomen bodemverontreiniging
• Ministerie van Financiën: veiling rijkswegstations, accijnzen
• Ministerie van Sociale Zaken: CAO Brandstofhandel
• Ministerie van VWS: tabakswet (tankshops)
• Ministerie van Economische Zaken: crisisbeleid, accijnsteruggaaf bij faillissement,
betalingsverkeer
