Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
The aim of the association is to represent the Marine Industry Associations and to act as the voice of the global recreational marine industry. The tasks of the association are the study and collation of scientific, economic and technical matters concerning recreational and other small craft, engines, ancillary equipment, marinas and the broader aspects of ports and harbours. This includes the study of matters concerned with safety, environmental protection and technical research related to all aspects of boating. Furthermore, ICOMIA concerns itself with educating the public and the industry, exchanging information, and carrying out international studies with the object of encouraging the efficiency, technical advance and productivity of enterprises to improve the benefits afforded to customers and to promote boating worldwide. ICOMIA sets out to break down all existing and anticipated barriers to trade. ICOMIA will from time to time deal with international organisations, Governments and other bodies on behalf of the industry.
