Créée en 1963, la FCA est une organisation professionnelle qui représente les groupements de commerçants associés en France. De la défense d'un statut dans les années soixante, sa mission essentielle s'est complétée d'un rôle de promotion et de développement de cette forme de commerce. La FCA permet aux groupements de partager leurs expériences, leurs savoir-faire et de progresser.
Ainsi, la FCA a 4 missions:
1 - Représenter le Commerce Associé et défendre les intérêts de ses membres en faisant valoir le statut d'"indépendant associé", auprès des instances nationales voire européennes.
2- Promouvoir et contribuer au développement du Commerce Associé (presse, grandes écoles, chambres de commerce,...)
3- Conseiller et informer ses adhérents (conseil et veille juridique, formation, ...)
4- Développer les échanges d'expérience (séminaires, ateliers, ...)
