La Réunion des Organismes d’Assurance Mutuelle (ROAM) est un syndicat professionnel, regroupant 47 Sociétés d’Assurance Mutuelles (SAM).
Créée en 1855, la ROAM réunit des SAM très diverses : professionnelles (du bâtiment, de la santé, de l’alimentaire…), généralistes (dommages ou vie), spécialisées (retraite, grêle…), à caractère régional ou national, avec ou sans intermédiaires. Au-delà de ces différences, ces groupes ont un point commun : sans capital social, elles sont gérées collectivement par leurs assurés, qui sont leurs sociétaires.
Depuis plus de 150 ans, la ROAM permet à ses adhérents d’échanger sur leur statut mutualiste et de défendre un statut alternatif aux sociétés de capitaux.
