Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
Promote equality in work and improve the conditions for women in their socio-economic, technical and professional lifes, eliminating all types of gender discrimination.
Promote the development of relations among Mediterranean Businesswomen, to maintain a permanent closeness among them and specifically within the frame of International Treaties and those countries that belong to the Associations and Federations members of AFAEMME.
Promote International cooperation and development in order to integrate the principle of equal opportunities for men and women.
Contribute to the cultural development of Businesswomen and women in general, and aid its complete education (training), with the final goal of achieving that a larger number of women who are in decision-making positions exercice their responsabilities with self-confidence and qualitative good work.
Coordinate and unite the individual efforts of the Associations and Federations of Mediterranean Businesswomen which are members of AFAEMME, promoting common activities and projects, overcoming isolation and strengthening solidarity and a stronger achievement of results.
Promote opportunities that allow our members to train and gain capacity in leadership and support those who already have it, so that they may all be able to collaborate with effectiveness in our activities.
Exercise influence on public opinion through work, campaigns and presentations to the authorities, with the objective of perfecting the legal, social and professional conditions of women.

Lobbying activities of AFAEMME are basically directed to achieve that a higher number of women achieve decision-making positions both in politics and in the economy. Therefore, lobbying is directed to public institutions and pretends to really implement the principle of equal opportunities between women and men.
