La FMVM
Association créée en 1988, présidée par Christian Pierret, ancien ministre, maire de Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, la
Fédération des Villes Moyennes (FVM) regroupe les maires des villes centre dont la population est
comprise entre 20 000 et 100 000 habitants ainsi que les présidents des intercommunalités à fiscalité propre qui
intègrent une ville moyenne.
La FVM identifie et étudie les spécificités des villes moyennes et de leurs agglomérations, pôles d’équilibre
entre les métropoles régionales et les territoires ruraux. Les villes moyennes et leurs intercommunalités sont
des lieux de convergences et de mobilisation des énergies urbaines et rurales, où la qualité de vie constitue
un facteur fort d’attractivité.
Organe de réflexion et de conseil, elle est une force de proposition pour la défense et la reconnaissance des villes
moyennes et de leurs intercommunalités. Paritaire dans ses instances de décision, la FVM compte aujourd’hui près
de 200 adhérents.
