Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: FFSA was created in 1937 from the merger of several unions; it has 266 corporate members that together represent 90% of the French insurance market. The insurance industry works alongside stakeholders, day in and day out, to provide the best solutions for our shared future.
While managing 1491,1 billion Euros in assets, insurers have credited in 2007 170,9 billion Euros to policyholders.
The main objectives of the FFSA are to:
- Promote the French Insurance market and develop consumer prevention and related technical studies ;
- Represent and protect the insurers' interests at the French and European levels ;
- Negotiate social agreements and conventions such as professional retirement’s schemes or professional training.
