Die BMW Group ist ein international führender Hersteller von Premium-Automobilen und Motorrädern. Mit den Marken BMW, MINI und Rolls-Royce ist das Unternehmen in allen relevanten Marktsegmenten präsent. Seine Fahrzeuge zeichnen sich durch hohe Produktsubstanz hinsichtlich Ästhetik, Dynamik, Technik und Qualität aus. Zudem spiegeln Sicherheit und Energie-Effizienz die Innovationskraft der BMW Group. Der serienmäßige Einsatz von BMW Efficient Dynamics Maßnahmen reduziert die CO2-Emissionen der Neu-wagenflotte gegenüber 1995 um 25%.
Mit einem Umsatz von knapp 69 Mrd. Euro und einem Absatz von knapp 1,79 Millionen Automobilen und rund 119.000 Motorrädern gehört die BMW Group zu den zehn größten Automobilherstellern weltweit (Stand 2011). Mit der Konzentration auf die Premiumsegmente der internationalen Automobilmärkte wird ein nachhaltiges und profitables Wachstum angestrebt. Aktuell ist das Unternehmen in über 130 Ländern mit Vertrieb und Service präsent und beschäftigt insgesamt rund 100.000 Mitarbeiter.
Auf die Länder der Europäischen Union entfallen rund 80% der Automobilproduktion und mehr als 85 % aller Arbeitsplätze in der BMW Group.
