APPA Biocarburantes was created in 2005 as an autonomous section of the Association of Renewable Energy Producers (APPA). It represents the Spanish biodiesel, bioethanol and biogas (for transport)sectors. APPA Biocarburantes gathers 36 companies that account for more than 90% of the biofuels produced in Spain. Its main objectives are to ensure the development of the Spanish biofuel market, ensure the high quality of biofuels sold in Spain, and contribute to the development of national feedstock for biofuels.
