Other contact information: WssTP is the Water supply and sanitation Technology Platform, the European Technology Platform (ETP) for Water.

It was initiated by the European Commission in 2004 to:
1) Promote coordination and collaboration of RTD&I in the water sector, and
2) ennhance the competetiveness of the European water sector in relation to other global regions

Through our Vision Document and Strategic Research Agenda we provide strategic answers for the water research future challenges. We have 71 members and 350 contributors and represent a network of more than 700 individuals from industrie, research institutes, universities, utilities, and end-users.

WssTP is led by industries in collaboration with academics, research organisations and water users to improve efficiency and financial opportunities in the sector.
WssTP works with National Representatives through its Member States Mirror Group (MSMG).

WssTP has a strong network of Members and contributors involved in its activities including the delivering of research strategic vision and the production of evidenced based reports identifying future research needs. From Fundamental Research to implementation, WssTP is proactive in identifying future challenges.

The major contributions from WssTP are the Strategic Research Agenda published in 2006 and updated in 2010 through the work of more than 200 individuals and a series of scientific publication and reports on key challenges of the water sector including water management in urban cities, sludge, climate change, managed aquifer recharge, irrigated agriculture, coastal zones, etc.

The WssTP is a growing organisation
serving a challenging mission which
aims to develop collaboration
between the different stakeholders
working in the water sector.
Indeed, during our first five years
of operation, the number of
people involved in the platform
activities increased on a regular
basis starting from a threshold of
300 in 2007 to more than 650 in
2009.
The number of corporate members
went from 11 in 2007 to 61 in
2010. More than 200 organisations
contribute to the work of WssTP
