Focus Association for Sustainable Development is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit and apolitical association of individuals.
Our work covers the following areas:
- climate change,
- mobility and
- global responsibility and consumption.
EU 2030 climate and energy framework (ETS reform, governance);
Road to Paris (UNFCCC)
Vehicles and CO2 standards
In 2014 we were engaging in the debate about post 2020 climate and energy framework, discussions on EU ETS - MSR, key issues in the international climate negotiation process (UNFCCC) and climate change policy developments in Slovenia. Regarding the European Energy policy we were following the implementation of Energy Efficiency Directive. We have provided several position papers and letters to the policy makers, press releases and had a number of meetings with policy makers. We have regularly shared information with CAN E, participated in the creation of position papers with European NGOs and have regularly informed public about activities through our website and social networks. At national level we were following the adoption of Operational Program for GHG reduction up to 2020. By working on the EU funds we wanted to ensure that at least part of the resources in European funds will be directed in sustainable energy and mobility. In the field of transport, we followed the policies in the field of vehicles and CO2 and biofuels. Focus had four main lines of international cooperation in 2014. With Climate Action Network Europe we followed European and international climate and energy politics. With Friends of the Earth Europe we cooperated in the field of community power projects and other energy and climate issues. Our cooperation with European Federation for Transport and Environment focused on the Cars&CO2 and biofuels. We cooperated with CEE Bankwatch network on the TES 6 project by putting pressure on EIB and EBRD.
