Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
The IT Security Association Germany (TeleTrusT) acts as an interface and facilitates exchange of knowledge between authorities, developers of secure technologies and application solutions, providers of reliable services and products as well as the users. Together with its members TeleTrusT encourages the development and application of trustworthy information and communication technologies. The interoperability of components and processes, the warranty of their security and consideration of global compatibility are significant criteria. Coevally the association promotes the protection of personal data, electronic identities and private user environments. In various TeleTrusT working groups ICT security experts, users and interested parties meet each other in frequent workshops, round-tables and expert talks. The activities focus on reliable and trustworthy solutions complying with international standards, laws and statutory requirements. TeleTrusT is keen to promote the acceptance of solutions supporting identification, authentification and signature (IAS) schemes in the electronic business and its processes. Thus the TeleTrusT project European Bridge CA has been developed providing more than 700.000 public-key-certificates for secure mail communication. The certificate "TeleTrusT Information Security Professional" (T.I.S.P.) qualifies participants as experts in IT Security. TeleTrusT is involved in international conferences such as ISSE (Europe) and RSA (USA).

The IT Security Association Germany (TeleTrusT) was founded in 1989 as a non-profit association promoting trustworthiness of information and communication technology in open systems environments. Today, TeleTrusT represents members from industry, science and research as well as public institutions. TeleTrusT evolved to competence network for IT security. The association acts as an interface and facilitates exchange of knowledge between authorities, developers of secure technologies and application solutions, providers of reliable services and products as well as the users. Together with its members TeleTrusT encourages the development and application of trustworthy information and communication technologies.
