The Danish Society of Engineers, IDA, is a modern professional association for engineers and other specialised groups working with engineering and technology. We call them technical knowledge workers. More than 60 % of all engineers in Denmark are members of The Danish Society of Engineers, which has more than 80,000 members. IDA's vision is to help technical knowledge workers set the agenda via competence development, network establishment and political influence.
Knowledge sharing and proliferation of knowledge is high on the agenda for IDA. We strive to ensure that specialist competences are maintained and strengthened through various activities.
Several politically appointed committees ensure that the views and objectives of our society become known and are made visible in areas ranging from education policy, equal opportunity, industrial and labour market policies, work environment and research and technology.
