Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: 1. Following and studying any subject related to current work, activity, research and development in the EU, in the Council of Europe and the UNESCO which falls within the immediate interest of the Church of Greece, so as to facilitate the expression of pertinent remarks and proposals to the competent European and national authorities.

2. Participating in the dialogue for peace, reconciliation and cooperation of the peoples of Europe by supporting cultural and humanistic activities and by contributing to the cohesion of the European society with respect to the diversity of national and cultural identities in Europe.

3. Supporting and promoting the spiritual and cultural work of the Church of Greece mainly through its collaboration with the institutions of the EU, the Council of Europe and the UNESCO, as well as with any other European authority.

4. Maintaining and advancing relations with representatives of Churches, religious communities, NGOs and generally the civil society who are active in the EU.

5. Participating in activities which take place on a European level and regard the religious, spiritual, humanitarian and financial solidarity among the peoples of Europe and the rest of world, so as enhance the principles of mutual respect of common understanding and solidarity in a sprint of peace against xenophobia and ethnic discrimination.

6. Organizing lectures, seminaries, working groups, conferences and other similar activities on subjects about Orthodox tradition, history, art, education, theology or communication.
