Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
EMPEA is an independent, global membership association established in 2004 to catalyze private equity and venture capital investment in emerging markets. EMPEA's 280 member firms include leading global institutional investors, and private equity and venture capital fund managers across more than 50 developing and developed markets, who share the belief that private equity capital is a critical source of financing for companies in developing economies and simultaneously provides investors with the opportunity to achieve superior financial returns.
In support of its mission, EMPEA provides statistical research and analysis on the development of private equity in emerging economies, tracks the impact of investments on companies and communities, and supports legal and regulatory frameworks that encourage the long-term growth of this critical source of economic development capital.
