| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
The purposes for which Professional Records & Information Services Management International is organized are: To promote and advance the mutual interests of its members; to consider and deal with common intra-industry problems involving the service, employment and financial aspects of the information management industry; To promote activities aimed at evaluating the Industry and having the Industry conduct itself with the greatest efficiency and economy; to promote and provide means of communication among its members to the end that its members will acquire valuable business information, including communication by means of a convention for members of the Industry, by written publication and by public broadcast; To promote and improve the reputation and image of its members; to establish and communicate its code of ethics; to determine the effect of any proposed, potential or current government action or legislation relating to the Industry or other business interests of members of the Corporation; and To perform all lawful acts and things necessary or proper to promote the general welfare of the Industry and to achieve the proper and lawful objectives of a trade association; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall authorize or empower the Corporation to perform or engage in any acts or practices prohibited by law, including the anti trust statutes of the State of North Carolina and the United States or any other jurisdiction, domestic or international, in which any member of the Corporation operates or which would cause the Corporation to lose its status as a tax-exempt corporation, as defined in the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended; To educate national and regional fire, safety and building standards setting bodies and organizations as to the Industry's special nature and needs; To provide educational and advocacy resources to promote smart information management solutions for its members and the business public.
The vision, mission and strategic objectives of the organization are as follows:
VISION: PRISM International will be the most visible and effective global provider of advocacy, education and networking services for organizations who offer records and information management services to multiple clients for profit.
MISSION: PRISM International will attract and retain members by becoming indispensable to commercial information management outsourcing providers around the world.
