Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: The North Sea Foundation (NSF) is a Dutch environmental NGO that advocates the protection and sustainable use of the North Sea marine ecosystem. NSF focuses its activities on four main areas, namely: Fisheries & Seafood, Shipping, Sustainable Energy and Marine Protected Areas. NSF has a reputation of advocacy based on knowledge and expertise. Our mission is carried out with a passion for the ocean and the desire for all Dutch people to be proud of the North Sea that has provided us with both economical and environmental resources. Much remains unknown about the North Sea, particularly the unsustainable exploitation that is occurring daily. The NSF, through its four main programs, seeks to educate the public on these threats and to equip them with tools that will bring about change for the greater well-being of the North Sea and other seas and oceans.
