Società Generale d'Informatica has been providing solutions and Information & Communication Technology services (ICTs) for the Italian Tax Administration since 1976. Sogei is 100% State-owned and constitutes the Tax Administration's technological partner.
Sogei, today, holds a prominent position as it is the leading company in Italy in the ICT sector.
Sogei guarantees the management of the Tax information system through technological solutions and services developed for different Agencies such as Revenue, Customs, State Properties, Cadastre and Land Registry and also for Tax Police Corp, Department of Fiscal Policies, State Monopolies Authority and the School of the Economy and Finance.
Through interaction between systems, the re-use of solutions and the integration of technologies, it contributes to development and innovation in the Public Administration and ensures the unity and effectiveness of strategic actions for the government of the country.
For the quality of its information technology solutions, Sogei plays an important role also at international level for the development of e-Government and to bridge the digital divide, through fostering best practices and by research and development products.
Sogei has about 1,800 employees who, thanks to their consolidated know how and dynamic pursuit of innovation, make the company a national resource in the ICT area.
Sogei leads high precision topography and digitalised cartography supported by GIS technologies for the Land Agency. Sogei is the Italian leader in the development of hybrid satellite and traditional positioning solutions for topographic survey.
