Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
Green Budget Europe ist a European platform on Market-Based Instruments. Its aim is to promote debate and political progress on the international stage and at EU level, as well as within the EU member states.
We are in regular contact with EU institutions and meet representatives of each upcoming EU Presidency to present our ideas. We organise and partici-pate in seminars and conferences all over Europe to formulate priorities and identify windows of opportunity for the implementation of MBI for the environment. We also organise an international conference every year in a different EU Member State to investigate a particular topic in more depth. We produce expert responses to EU consultations, detailed policy papers, media articles, and book chapters for publication.
Green Budget Europe is currently being run as a project of the NGO Green Budget Germany.
OUR GOALS
To address climate change and the degradation of the natural environment, a balanced policy mix is required including regulation, environmental agreements, environmental taxation, emissions trading, other Market-Based Instruments (MBI) for the environment, and public information campaigns.
