European

Specific activities covered by the Register

In 2015 YES congress many debates took place. A new generation has now

emerged in YES who has the opportunity and the willingness to make socialist

and progress a better option than the far right for young people and European

citizens in general. We need YES to be the cornerstone of socialist revival in

Europe. We are in a struggle against the right at three levels :

- in the institutions because they have a political majority

- in society because they have cultural hegemony

- in our own parties who have often stopped wanting to deeply transform

the system and base their strategy on an alliance with the right which

fosters the raise of the far right and of the radical left in Europe.

To be effective as socialists we need

- to be as good as lobbies in the institutions because that’s how you get

through in Europe

- to be active on the field by campaigns which allow us to connect with

young people and to make them join us.

Topics :

We should obviously focus on youth related topics but also on the battles we see

coming

- TTIP

- far right

- migration and asylum policy

- role of social democracy: where are we going, what is yes role within it / what

should our relationship with the left should be ?

- Climate conference and ecosocialism
