Mission:
The Committee may be consulted by the Commission, or upon the initiative of its chairman or of one or more of its members, for questions relating to rules of the common fisheries policy. In particularly it concentrates on measures that the Commission has to take under these regulations as well as economic and social issues of fisheries sector with the exception of those related, as social partners, to employers and workers in the fishery sector. The committee conducts its work through four working groups: Access to resources and management of fishing activities; Aquaculture: fish, crustaceans and molluscs; Markets and trade policy matters and general economic analysis of the sector.
