This group is consulted to ensure that Erasmus Mundus masters programmes and doctoral programmes correspond to the highest academic quality of the programme.
Assists Commission in project selection; provides expertise to Commission in elaboration of draft implementing measures (that is before the Commission submits them to a "comitology" committee).

"According with the Decision establishing the action programme Erasmus Mundus (2004-2008) adopted on 03 December 2003 and to the Decision establishing the acyion programme Erasmus Mundus (2009 - 2013), adopted by the 19 December 2008 (L 340) - Annex Selection Procedures, provisions:
a) proposals under action 1 will be selected by the Commission assisted by a selection
board presided over by a person whom it elects, composed of personalities of high
standing from the academic world who are representative of the diversity of higher
