Contributes to analysing the situation within the Community with regard to security of supply for crude oil and petroleum products and facilitates the coordination and implementation of measures in that field, in particular in the event of difficulties arising in the supply of crude oil and petroleum products
Assist the Commission in relation to the implementation of existing Union legislation, programmes and policies
Coordinate with Member States, exchange of views
The Group also meets in normal oil supply conditions in order to update data on stock levels. Meetings are also used for presenting and discussing energy-related Community initiatives.
