Analysis

The European Commission conducts economic analyses on various aspects of EU trade policy in order to assess the impact of trade on the EU and global economy.

The analysis is undertaken by the Chief Economist team in DG Trade and independent consultants with funding from the Commission.

This analysis feeds into a better formulation of trade policy. The Commission publishes the results here: they cover a number of reports and studies on the world economy, on multilateral and bilateral trade as well as impact assessments of EU trade policy.

There are also specific analyses relating to Sustainability Impact Assessments and to the evaluation of trade policy.
