Tax object and basis of assessment

Total liabilities on 31 December of the preceding year less (a) deposits subject to the deposit guarantee scheme and (b) qualifying equity capital.

 
Deductions, Allowances, Credits, Exemptions

From 2013 onwards a modified base and rate (0.095%) applies to credit institutions providing financial market support.

 
Rate(s) Structure

From 2014 onwards, the original rate (0.035%) was modified and a distinction between “systemic” and “non-systemic” credit institutions was introduced.

For systemic institutions the rate depends upon a risk indicator (R) based on asset ratios.
