EU tax and customs online: Commission launches new website
The European Commission's Taxation and Customs Union Directorate-General has re-launched its website aimed at providing even more comprehensive policy and practical information on European tax and customs matters, thus enabling citizens and traders to reap the benefits of the Internal Market.
If you’re a business searching for VAT rates and VAT practical arrangements applicable in the 25 Member States, rates and rules on tobacco products, alcohol or mineral oils or simply wanting to validate your customer's VAT number, the new site has now become a "one-stop-shop" for all your needs.
The website also offers a wide range of information on importing products into the EU, the tariff applicable as well as customs controls.
Citizens may find it very useful to consult the site's "traveller's section" or to find out more on car as well as personal taxation in the EU.
