Customs Laboratories are an essential instrument for Customs Authorities and National Administrations.
They perform chemical analyses to determine goods' tariff classification and duties and provide scientific expertise to all Customs departments.
Nowadays, Customs Laboratories are more and more involved in the control of dangerous substances (e.g. pesticides, pollutants, narcotics, illegal medicines, etc.) in order to face emerging frauds and illegal trade, as well as to contribute to health and consumer protection.
