Preparatory actions

What is it for?

The main objective of Preparatory Actions is to prepare future EU actions in the field of sport, on the basis of priorities set in the 2007 White Paper on Sport and the 2011 Communication on Developing the European Dimension in Sport.

What does it support and for who?

Transnational projects put forward by public bodies or civil society organisations in order to identify and test suitable networks and good practices in the field of sport.

Who is responsible for the call?

The Sport Unit of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture.

What has been done so far?

In 2013, 135 applications were received. Following the evaluation, the Commission decided to finance 15 projects outlined in the section on the results of the 2013 preparatory action.

In 2012, 76 applications were received. Following the evaluation, the Commission decided to finance a total of 20 projects, outlined in the section on the results of the 2012 preparatory action
