On 11 September 2009, a survey on volunteering in sport was launched as part of a wider EU study on volunteering, currently being carried out for the European Commission by an external contractor.
The survey is intended for sport organisations engaging volunteers and aims at seeking their views on a number of topics relating to voluntary activity in the field of sport, including key trends and problems they face in the recruitment, retention and replacement of volunteers, as well as regarding the way the regulatory framework affects volunteering in sport in their country.
The Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission wishes to encourage sport stakeholders to take part in this survey, which is accessible under the following link:
