Commission to launch call for proposals under Preparatory Action 2010

The call for proposals will serve to select high-quality transnational projects which will be supported through the 2010 Preparatory Action in the field of sport.

On 26 April 2010 the Commission adopted the 2010 Annual Work Programme on grants and contracts for the preparatory action in the field of sport and for special annual events. On this basis, the Commission is now preparing a call for proposals to support transnational projects presented by public bodies or civil society organisations in the field of sport. This call will follow the one launched in 2009 which raised an enormous amount of interest and led to financial support for 18 projects out of 207 applications (more information on the 2009 call for proposals is available at: /sport/news/eu-supports-18-transnational-projects-in-the-field-of-sport_en.xml).

The 2010 call for proposals, endowed with an indicative budget of € 2.5 million, will support transnational projects aimed at identifying suitable networks and good practices in the following areas:

(a) Fight against doping;

(b) Promoting social inclusion in and through sport;

(c) Promoting volunteering in sport.

The official announcement of the 2010 call for proposals will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union in the next weeks. All practical information and application documents will be made available on this website.
