Study on the minimum quality requirements for dual careers published

February092016

The study was launched in December 2014 and was carried out by Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, School of Sports and Nutrition.

Study on the minimum quality requirements for dual career services

The objectives were:

  • to develop a set of minimum quality requirements at European level, which could function as a reference point for national dual career services and facilities
  • to provide a model of a quality framework, providing transparency and guarantees on quality, safety and security for athletes

Dual careers

The European Commission's support for dual careers aims to make sure that young sportspeople receive education or professional training as well as their sports training. Proper provisions for dual careers can protect sportspeople after retirement or in case they drop out from sport.

Erasmus+ funding for collaborative partnerships can support transnational projects that support the dual careers of athletes.
