EU Expert Groups 'Education and Training in Sport' and 'Good Governance': final meeting reports available

The Expert Group on Education and Training in Sport (XG ETS) met in Helsinki on 26 and 27 June 2013. On the first day a seminar on developments of dual career arrangements for athletes in Finland took place. In its meeting on the second day the group adopted the mid-term report on the state of play of the inclusion of sport qualifications in the National Qualification Frameworks in the EU.

 

The Expert Group on Education and Training in Sport (XG ETS) met in Helsinki on 26 and 27 June 2013. On the first day a seminar on developments of dual career arrangements for athletes in Finland took place. In its meeting on the second day the group adopted the mid-term report on the state of play of the inclusion of sport qualifications in the National Qualification Frameworks in the EU. The Group's meeting focused furthermore on the finalisation of proposals for future EU level work in the field of Education and Training in Sport, including the implementation of the EU guidelines on Dual Careers for Athletes, a follow up on the Inclusion of Sport qualifications and the position of Physical Education and Sport at schools.

The Expert Group on Good Governance (XG GG) held its sixth and penultimate meeting in Brussels on 17-18 July 2013. The Group finalised discussions on its second deliverable, namely recommendations on principles of good governance in sport. The Group also continued its work on the topics of transfers of players and sports agents, in view of adopting its third deliverable at the last meeting of the Group, scheduled to take place in Brussels in November 2013.
