Projeccions poblacionals 2010-2060
La població de la UE27 assolirà un màxim cap al 2040
Segons les previsions, la població de la UE27 passarà dels 501 milions d’habitants de l’1 de gener del 2010 als 525 milions el 2035 fins a assolir el rècord de 526 milions d’habitants entorn del 2040 i anar davallant fins als 517 milions el 2060. També segons les previsions, la població de la UE27 continuarà envellint i la part de població major de 65 anys passarà del 17% el 2010 al 30% el 2060 mentre que els majors de 80 anys passaran de ser el 5% a ser-ne el 12% durant el mateix període. Aquestes projeccions de població per al període 2010-2060 procedeixen d’Eurostat. El 2060, els Estats members amb una major població seran el Regne Unit (79 milions), França (74 milions), Alemanya (66 milions), Itàlia (65 milions) i Espanya (52 milions).
