Progress (2007-2013) er et EU-program for beskæftigelse og social solidaritet, der er udarbejdet med henblik på at yde finansiel støtte til at bidrage til gennemførelsen af Europa 2020-strategien. I denne publikation beskrives de lang- og kortsigtede målsætninger, og der gives flere eksempler på, hvordan programmet støtter udviklingen og koordineringen af europæisk beskæftigelses- og socialpolitik, og hvordan de forskellige berørte parter er inddraget i den politiske beslutningsproces på EU-plan og nationalt plan. Denne publikation findes i trykt version på alle officielle EU-sprog.

The Social Europe guide is a bi-annual publication aimed at providing to an interested but not necessarily specialised audience a concise overview of specific areas of EU policy in the field of employment, social affairs and inclusion. It illustrates the key issues and challenges, explains policy actions and instruments at EU level and provides examples of best practices from EU Member States. It also presents views on the subject from the Council Presidency and the European Parliament. This first volume in this series focuses on the biggest challenges the EU is facing in the area of employment. In particular, it describes EU actions to fight unemployment, develop new skills and create new jobs. It also explains the role of employment policy in the context of the Europe 2020 strategy and European economic governance. The last chapter outlines main orientations for EU employment policy in the future. This publication is available in printed format in English, French and German.

EU har identificeret genetableringen af den økonomiske vækst og flere og bedre job som nøglen til bekæmpelse af fattigdom. For at muliggøre dette foreslår Europa-Kommissionen at oprette en europæisk platform mod fattigdom og social udstødelse. I denne meddelelse beskrives de udfordringer, som fattigdom og udstødelse fører med sig, og hvordan de forskellige politikker vil bidrage til at mindske fattigdom og fremme social inklusion. Den peger endvidere på en række dertil knyttede tiltag, og der redegøres for platformens udformning og indhold. Denne publikation findes i trykt version på alle officielle EU-sprog.

Udvalget for Social Beskyttelse, et beslutningsforum for medlemsstaterne og Europa-Kommissionen, har udarbejdet sin 2011-udgave af rapporten om den sociale dimension af Europa 2020-strategien. Denne brochure opsummerer rapporten. Den indeholder en præsentation af Udvalget for Social Beskyttelses arbejde, en beskrivelse af EU’s mål inden for bekæmpelse af fattigdom og social udstødelse og en analyse af status og tendenser på dette område. Den undersøger ligeledes politikker inden for fattigdomsbekæmpelse og -forebyggelse og opridser Udvalget for Social Beskyttelses centrale budskaber. Der gives også en udførlig fremstilling af udvalgte nationale programmer og EU-instrumenter til tackling af fattigdom og social udstødelse. Denne publikat ion fi ndes i trykt version på alle offi cielle EU-sprog.

The PROGRESS programme provides financial support to help reach EU aims in the area of employment, social affairs and equal opportunities. This report gives an overview of the programme’s performance during 2010 in terms of progress towards the achievement of pre-defined immediate and intermediate goals. It also underlines the programme’s importance to participating countries as regards their involvement in PROGRESS activities and the relevance of outcomes to their needs. The report is available in electronic format in English, French and German.

EURES is a network comprising the European Commission, public employment services of European Economic Area countries and partner organisations, with Switzerland also taking part. It facilitates information exchange and cooperation on job vacancies and applications. This brochure contains the legislation which makes up the EURES legal basis, along with its Charter and Guidelines for 2010-13. The legislation includes extracts from the Treaties on the EU and its functioning, the Regulation on freedom of movement for workers which EURES implements and the Decision aiming to consolidate and strengthen EURES. This publication is available in printed format in English, French and German.

The PROGRESS programme provides financial support to help reach EU aims in the area of employment, social affairs and equal opportunities. This fact sheet summarises the PROGRESS Annual Performance Monitoring Report 2010. Emphasis is placed on the programme’s contribution to and achievement of its mission over the past year, in an overview of deliverables and their use by policymakers, social partners, NGOs and other stakeholders. The recent economic crisis in Europe has hit young people hard, reversing earlier progress in employment rates and putting at risk the services that existed to support them. The ESF is stepping in to help young people get good qualifications and find work, so as to reach the targets of the EU’s ‘Europe 2020’ strategy for jobs and growth.
