EU Employment and Social Situation - Quarterly Review - June 2013  (25/06/2013)

Catalog N. : KE-BH-13-003-EN-N

According this edition of the EU Employment and Social Situation Quarterly Review, labour market and social challenges have been growing over recent months, as the EU is still faced with ever higher unemployment and the lowest employment figures since the onset of the crisis. The employment and social situation in the EU remained critical in the first quarter of 2013 with employment receding overall and unemployment rising further, trends which concentrate in the southern members of the euro area. The situation of many households, and of young people in particular, remains serious. Nearly a quarter of economically active young people in the EU are unemployed. The sharp fall in young people's employment in some countries partly reflects differences in labour market structures, and in particular the role of temporary contracts. In the context of divergence across the EU, the number of people wanting to move to another country has substantially increased. The Review also notes the importance of quality childcare in mitigating inequalities at an early stage and explores the results of the first wave of the European Central Bank's Household Finance and Consumption Survey. Recent developments in the financial and insurance activities sector, as well as in Slovenia and Croatia, are also analysed in this edition. This publication is available in electronic format in English.

Vezetői összefoglaló a „Munkaügyi kapcsolatok Európában, 2012” című jelentésről  (18/06/2013)

Catalog N. : KE-AV-13-001-HU-N

A jelentés vezetői összefoglalója azt vizsgálja, hogy miként alakultak a munkaügyi kapcsolatok a legutóbbi, 2010. évi jelentés óta. Mivel a pénzügyi krízis államadósság-válságba fordult, a kormányzati reformok alapvető hatást gyakorolnak a munkáltatók, a szakszervezetek és a közigazgatási szervek közötti kapcsolatokra. Bár a szociális párbeszéd korábban hozzájárult a válság kezdeti hatásainak leküzdéséhez szükséges rugalmasság kialakításához, a válság elhúzódása és elmélyülése mostanra kedvezőtlen körülményeket teremtett a szociális párbeszéd számára. Az összefoglaló mindazonáltal kiemeli a megfelelően strukturált szociális párbeszéd folytatásának fontosságát, valamint hangsúlyozza, hogy a Bizottság elkötelezetten támogatja annak továbbvitelét.

Representatives of eight Member States, the European Commission and stakeholder organisations attended the event. This report summarises the key issues discussed and the lessons learned. Social economy and social entrepreneurship - Social Europe guide - Volume 4  (29/04/2013)

Catalog N. : KE-BC-12-002-EN-C

The Social Europe guide is a bi-annual publication aimed at providing an interested but not necessarily specialised audience with a concise overview of specific areas of EU policy in the field of employment, social affairs and inclusion. It illustrates the key issues and challenges, explains policy actions and instruments at EU level and provides examples of best practices from EU Member States. It also presents views on the subject from the Council Presidency and the European Parliament. The fourth volume in the series describes the vivid world of social economy organisations (such as cooperatives, associations, mutuals and foundations) as well as the more recent phenomenon of social entrepreneurship, i.e. business created to achieve social rather than financial goals. In addition, it illustrates trends towards greater social responsibility among citizens/consumers, for-profit companies and financial institutions. Finally it reviews ways in which European and national policies support the social economy and social enterprise. The guide is available in printed format in German, Greek, English and French.
