On 16 June 2016 the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion organised an expert hearing on 'Labour market transitions – revisiting flexicurity', part of the public consultation on the draft European Pillar of Social Rights.
On 16 and 17 June, the 7th Conference on Evaluation of Cohesion Policy was held in Sofia to discuss the achievements of Cohesion Policy and the lessons learned during the 2007-2013 programming period and the challenges to the effectiveness of the 2014-2020 programming period.
On 15 June the Social Platform held a dedicated event to discuss the European Pillar of Social Rights. Besides Special Adviser Allan Larsson, speakers included former Italian Minister of Labour Enrico Giovannini, Claire Courteille from the ILO, MEPs Maria Joao Rodrigues (S&D, PT) and Terry Reintke (GREENS-EFA, DE), as well as high-level representatives from the EU social partners and EU-level NGOs.
