Niniejsza ulotka wyjaśnia, w jaki sposób Unia Europejska i jej partnerzy podnoszą poziom kształcenia i szkolenia zawodowego, aby lepiej dopasować je do obecnych i przyszłych potrzeb rynku pracy. Uczenie się oparte na pracy, dostęp do kształcenia i szkolenia zawodowego, ustawiczne doskonalenie zawodowe nauczycieli oraz uznawanie umiejętności i kwalifikacji mają przyczynić się do tworzenia nowych miejsc pracy i osiągnięcia dodatkowego wzrostu gospodarczego. Nowy europejski program na rzecz umiejętności i konkluzje z Rygi tworzą podstawę dla tego procesu. Postępy w realizacji wyznaczonych celów będą monitorowane przez Cedefop i ETF.
This study looks into the availability of data on shortage occupations across the EU member states Public Employment Services, including Norway. It includes information on the methods, indicators and sources used to identify shortages and also presents a proposal for the development of a model for future data collection and exchange on bottleneck occupations in Europe.
The Dutch government’s declared aim is to move from a welfare state to a “participation society” built on citizens’ self-reliance and networking. Large parts of the social security system have been devolved to the municipalities. In response, most municipalities have set up Social Community Teams. The Peer Review held in The Hague (January 2016) discussed the use of SCTs to combat poverty. This report summarises the key issues discussed and the lessons learned. The Peer Review on Prevention and Early Intervention Services to address children at risk of poverty was hosted by the Irish Department of Children and Youth Affairs. The seminar focussed on two priority issues in Ireland’s national children’s strategy: to lift 70,000 children out of consistent poverty by 2020 and to shift policy towards prevention and early intervention. This study highlights the strong relation between unemployment, especially long-term unemployment, and poor self-perceived health. It shows that unemployment increased bad and very bad self-perceived health in European countries between 2004 and 2013. The longer the duration of unemployment, the stronger is the effect on self-perceived health. The study helps evaluate more comprehensively the impact of the crisis, (long-term) unemployment and inactivity on the health of individuals, thus showing that the labour market situation spills over into other important areas of public policy such as healthcare.
This paper examines the relation between unemployment and cardiovascular disease mortality in EU countries between 2000 and 2010. Two separate studies are summarized and highlight the increase in heart disease and stroke mortality rates as potential outcomes of the greatly extended unemployment rate during this period.
This report addresses the question of whether it is technically, financially and legally feasible to estimate geographic mobility and migration flows in the European Union. The study reviews state-of-the-art methods to measure stocks and flows of migrants using traditional data sources but also new and innovative data sources such as mobile phone data and social media data. It finds that it is indeed feasible to estimate geographic mobility and migration flows in the European Union but that that it depends on several important factors such as access to data, legal obstacles and desired outcomes that are outlined in the paper.
