Social partners agree to negotiate on EU Working Time rules

The European social partners have decided to enter negotiations after the Commission's consultations with them on reviewing the Working Time Directive.

The main cross-sectoral social partners at EU level are BUSINESSEUROPE, CEEP and UEAPME, representing employers and ETUC, representing workers.

Previous successful outcomes which embody agreements negotiated by the European social partners include the important EU directives on parental leave, part-time work and fixed-term work.
