Recent survey shows positive impact of mutual learning programme for public employment services

16/12/2013 Recent survey shows positive impact of mutual learning programme for public employment services

A recent survey among its participants shows that the PES to PES Dialogue mutual learning programme has achieved good results, thus actively contributing to the implementation of the Europe 2020 employment guidelines.

According to the survey, until summer 2013 more than 60 changes had been reported by public employment services (PESs) from 22 countries, mostly related to the refinement of individual action planning and profiling, services for employers and initiatives addressing youth unemployment.

These reforms will enhance PESs' capacities for:

  • labour market integration of unemployed,
  • helping employers experiencing recruitment difficulties,
  • making an effective use of resources for active labour market policy measures,
  • fighting youth unemployment.

Lessons from the programme's peer reviews are being used for European and national strategy development:

In 2014 the PES to PES Dialogue programme will further strengthen learning based upon evidence-based good practices on PESs service delivery. More information about next year's activities is available in the latest edition of the programme's newsletter.

Launched by the European Commission in 2011, the PES to PES Dialogue focuses on activities agreed with the European network of Heads of PES (HoPES) as part of its annual work programme.
