Seniors participate in a 715-mile torch relay in the UK

Residents from The ExtraCare Charitable Trust's 29 retirement schemes across the Midlands and North of England are participating in a 715-mile (1,151 km) five-month relay with their own Olympic-style torch, designed by Brunswick Gardens resident Vic Gould.

Involving a mix of activities and residents, the torch began its journey on March 1^st at Gloucester’s St Oswald’s Retirement Village and is visiting every retirement scheme and village on its way to an Olympic celebration at Milton Keynes’ Shenley Wood Village on July 27 - to coincide with the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Games.
