The Bertelsmann Stiftung and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion are jointly organising a conference entitled “Economic shock absorbers for the Eurozone. Deepening the debate on automatic stabilizers” on 20th June 2014.
The conference will bring together internationally renowned high-level policy-makers and experts. It is a follow-up event of the conference on automatic stabilizers for the Eurozone held last October, which had focused on the pros and cons, and the potential design of a European Unemployment Benefit Scheme.
Besides a deeper discussion on the various aspects of possible unemployment-based automatic stabilizers, various other issues will be tackled such as different forms of fiscal capacity for the European Monetary Union, which are conceivable and what are the necessary conditions for them to be more or less feasible.
This event is upon invitation only.
