Live is life - Launch of the Generations@school Project in Slovenia

As part of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, an event to celebrate the launch of Generations@school project in Slovenia took place on May 21st at the Ledina Elementary School in Ljubljana.

Minister Andrej Vizjak

Andrej Vizjak, Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, and Rok Terkaj, a popular Slovenian rapper and National Ambassador of the EY2012, visited the oldest elementary school in Ljubljana and addressed its pupils. Students from the Third Age University of Slovenia were also part of the event.

The Minister shared with the students his view on ageing and discussed with young people about their image of old age and what they could do together for the better future and better understanding between generations.

The pupils and senior citizens met together and learned a new song. The intergenerational learning workshop had a positive impact on all generations.

The knowledge and experience sharing continued during an interesting roundtable with fruitful discussions.

The event ended with a brand new song, Live is life, performed by Terkaj together with all participants.
