The German National Association of Senior Citizens' Organisations (BAGSO) and Feierabend.de, a free online community for the elderly, have announced the winners of the Seniors Day Photography Competition 2012.

The Top 10 pictures were shown during the 10th German Senior Citizens Day, celebrated in Hamburg on May 3rd under the motto “Say YES to ageing” (“JA zum Alter!”).

The winner was Paul August Wagner, for his picture "Birthday song for Roswitha." Sabine Tavern and Günter Oswald were awarded the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.

BAGSO and Feierabend.de organise this competition since 2006. This year the participants were invited to submit pictures capturing the lust for life of ageing citizens.

The response was a success, with 602 pictures submitted showing how much fun the elderly have in their lives, despite any potential handicaps.

Ten finalists were determined with the help of Feierabend.de members and presented at the BAGSO Seniors Day. The visitors decided upon three winners, who received a digital camera.
