Generations@school opening up dialogue in Polish schools

23/04/2012 Generations@school opening up dialogue in Polish schools

A visit from the Polish ministry to a local school opens the way to better intergenerational dialogue.

Generations@school became focus for attention in Poland as a meeting with seniors and students took place at the VIII Liceum on 23rd April in Warsaw. Krystyna Szumilas, Minister of National Education, and Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Labour and Social policy attended as part of the Generations@schools project.

The aim of the Generations@school project is to bring together students and older people. During the weeks around the 29th April, the European Day of Solidarity between Generations, schools across Europe are invited to open the doors of their classrooms to older people in order to engage in a dialogue that brings about a better understanding between generations.
