Updated MISSOC information on national social protection systems now available

Updated information (up to January 2018) on social protection systems in all EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland – including brief descriptions of their organisation and information on the social protection of the self-employed – is now available on the MISSOC website.

For this update, Table XI - Guaranteed Minimum Resources has been extensively revised to ensure completeness and consistency of information across countries. This table includes schemes intended to provide a minimum level of income to people and their dependents whose other means of support are considered insufficient to ensure an acceptable standard of living.

Background

MISSOC (Mutual Information System on Social Protection) is an important online source of up-to-date and comparable information on social protection systems in European countries. This information comes from a network of officials from national ministries and institutions responsible for administering social protection. The network is coordinated by the MISSOC Secretariat on behalf of the European Commission.

Please do not hesitate to contact the MISSOC Secretariat if you have questions on the information contained in the tables or any suggestions.
