Europe’s demographic future: facts and figures

The report summarizes the extensive analytical work that was carried out prior to the adoption of the communication on Europe’s demographic future (COM/2006/571) in October 2006. The aim of this report is to present the main facts and figures that underpin the debate on Europe’s demographic future and to discuss appropriate policy responses.
