On 22 June 2016, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission hosted a Thematic Event under the umbrella of the Mutual Learning Programme addressing the integration of asylum seekers and refugees.
The current refugee crisis is stressing the mechanisms in European countries to deal with asylum requests and general migration on economic grounds. This Peer Review presented the specific Spanish experience on labour integration of applicants and beneficiaries of international protection.
This Peer Review presented the specific experimental measure “Garantie Jeunes” in the youth guarantee (“Garantie Jeunesse”) context. This experimental measure targets the most vulnerable NEETS (young people not in employment, education or training) and supports them by providing a first professional experience, including both work experience and training opportunities; as well as financial support.
